The Book of Mormon is back

Hello! My name is Elder Price, and I would like to share with you the most amazing… Broadway musical!

The Book of Mormon is back! The show has been a huge hit from the day it premiered 15 years ago and is still going strong. “It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen, by far,” says Entertainment Weekly, while The Washington Post says, “It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals.”

It’s the story of two young Church of Latter-Day Saints members who are ready to go on their two-year mission of spreading the word about their religion, a traditional right of passage in the church. Two unlikely members—the confident Elder Price and the awkward, fiction-prone Elder Cunningham—find themselves paired. For Elder Price, the gold at the end of his mission rainbow would be a placement in Orlando, Florida. And he’s sure he’ll get it. After all, he’s tall, blond, and handsome. Elder Cunningham is just happy to be someone… anyone’s … partner.

But when their pairing and destination is announced, they learn they will be going to a remote village in Uganda. They don’t even know where Uganda is. Elder Price wonders how he can escape this personal disaster, (and this partner). Just wait until he hears the stories Elder Cunningham makes up (combining church doctrine with science fiction and fantasy) to start converting the villagers and the vengeful war lord, The General.

The Book of Mormon, the nine-time Tony® Award-winning Best Musical, features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of the landmark animated series, South Park. Tony Award winner Lopez is co-creator of the long-running hit musical comedy, Avenue Q.

The New York Times calls The Book of Mormon “the best musical of this century.” We call it the funniest show around. There’s a reason it’s still playing.
